Introduction

Arguably, the most popular of the card games in all online and traditional casinos, is Blackjack.  Arguably, because the difference between the various variations of poker is marginal, to say the least.

The rules are quite simple. The player goes against the dealer and tries to score a higher total through the cards they receive. If that sum exceeds 21 then the player automatically “busts”. In the case of a draw (i.e. the dealer and the player have the same total) then the player loses the wager. If both manage to get 21 then the one that has the lower number of cards wins.

There are plenty of variations and if you want to enjoy more, then you will need to check out the house rules before you begin a game. For example, in some casinos, it is mandatory to draw another card, if the current total is 16.

The first surviving written evidence about the game, exists in a short story by Miguel de Cervantes dating back to 1601. The text refers to an unknown game under the French equivalent name of 21. When it became popular in the United States, it also received  the moniker “Blackjack”.  The source of the new name derives from the bonus that some venues offered to their clients, if their cards were the ace of spades and a jack of either spades or clubs. While the incentive no longer exists, the name suck.

Caribbean Stud® Poker
This game has rules that are similar to the ones of five-stud poker, is played only against the house and derives its name from first becoming widely popular among venues in Aruba.
Casino Hold ‘Em
This is an adaptation of the famous game. Players only play against the dealer and not against each other. Initially, both receive two face-down cards and three community ones. At that point they can either call or fold. If opting for the first, two additional cards will be drawn and the best-of-seven hand is the one that designates the winner.
Live Blackjack
Live Blackjack is the newest upgrade. It tries to merge the automatic online world with the traditional casino world. There is a live breathing person that serves as the dealer. Players can interact with each other or with the dealer.
Tequila Poker
is an exciting casino poker game, where the player does not compete against anyone for the best hand. Winning or losing is a matter of predetermined values. After revealing four community hands, one has three options: high tequila, tequila poker or fold. When going for either of the first two, another couple of cards are revealed and the player ends up victorious or loses the bet.
William Hill Live Baccarat
Similar to Live Blackjack. There is a person dealing the cards and there is interaction between the players and the dealer.
Pai Gow Poker
The game begins with a wager. Then the player and the dealer receive 7 cards each. They arrange the cards in two sets. A 5-card and a 2-card. Then, according to the rules of the house, either side can win the bet. In some houses, both hands need to be better than the opponents. In other establishments there can be a separate winner per hand.
Blackjack Surrender
It is essentially classic blackjack with the “surrender” option. A player can give up his hand and receive half the bet back, if the dealer has checked for blackjack after receiving the initial two cards.
Wild Viking
This one is an exciting and unique combination of roulette and poker. The table layout is similar to roulette, except that instead of numbers, it uses cards in a rectangular 13×4 grid. Jokers are situated at the lower-left corner of the table. Besides the typical roulette-like bets (in this case on particular cards, suits, columns, ranges, etc.), there are the poker hands ones and the wild Viking option. The latter implies being dealt jokers as the first and respectively, last cards in the five-card hand (which the dealer draws for both sides of the contest) and typically has a payout worthy of its name: 1,250 to 1.
Red Dog
is a poker variant with unique hand value assessment. One or more individuals play against the house. Initially, two cards are drawn and, based on their value, a third one might be produced. The player wins or loses based on the value of this single hand.
William Hill Progressive Blackjack
is the classic version of the game that has a progressive jackpot attached to it. It is particularly exciting, as it offers players the chance to win a mammoth sum of money anytime that they play.
Pontoon
this game involves five hands that the player can wager on at the same time. Again there is a two to one payout, while the dealer must hit on 16 and soft 17 and stand on hard 17.
Stravaganza

21 Duel Blackjack
Initially there are two personal cards (one face-up, the other face-down to the player, both cards face-down to the dealer) and two community ones (both face-up). The player has the option to “hit” or “stand” (the former implies revealing the face-down card, while the latter involves discarding it).
